Did You Know Q3 2015
- CLL may be the most common blood cancer in adults but is still quite rare and considered an orphan disease. There are about 16,000 new cases in the USA annually.
- There is a real sense in the CLL research world that we are cracking open the understanding of the biology of the CLL cells and that is leading to the multiple new therapies we are seeing.
- Though CLL and SLL are considered different presentations of the same disease, some clinical trials will only accept patients with one of the diagnoses and not the other.
