Friends,
This week in the News section of our website, we’ve posted Vice-President Biden’s plenary address at the 2016 annual meeting of the American Association of Cancer Research in New Orleans on April 20th on how to accelerate cancer research. You can read my commentary and view his address about the Moon Shot initiative here.
Many of you may also be aware that Mr. Biden named Greg Simon, a fellow CLL patient, as the executive director of the new Cancer Moonshot Task Force. You can read more about him here.
THANK YOU TO OUR READER POLL PARTICIPANTS! I am very appreciative of the 350 folks who were able to participate in our Reader Poll this month. The data will be very helpful to me as I prepare to speak at a symposium at the 2016 European Hematology Association Congress in Copenhagen in June. We also plan to present the aggregated results in a future issue of The CLL Tribune.
For those interested in getting a CLL support group going on the west side of the LA Basin, or in attending our Orange County group that meets at UCI, or the group that meets at City of Hope, please send us an email at support@CLLSociety.org and we will provide you with the necessary information.
From time to time, we will make you aware of meetings coming up for those of us affected by CLL. In May and June, they include:
May 7th at 7:30 AM in Philadelphia, PA: The Lymphoma Workshop: Understanding Lymphoma Basics and Current Treatment Options will be hosted by the Lymphoma Research Foundation. You can find out more information and register here. There is no charge to attend.
May 14th at 9:30 AM in New York City, NY: Living Well With CLL is an educational conference in Manhattan hosted by Patient Power. You can find out more information and register here. There is no charge to attend.

In the meantime….
Stay strong.
We are all in this together.
