It was my privilege to be interviewed by Jana Pelouchova who hosted the CLLAN Horizon Meeting in Prague August 31- September 2, 2018.
CLLAN is an international umbrella organization whose members include charities from around the world that help those with CLL. Jana and I serve on the steering committee where we planned the meeting.
The mission of the Horizon meeting is to bring best practices and the latest knowledge to advocates who don’t have the access to the information and treatments we do in the USA, Canada, and Western Europe.
- The CLL treatment landscape is rapidly changing.
- Targeted therapies are the future.
- CAR-T therapy is improving as we gain more experience.
- Sadly most countries have no access to all these modern treatments. Changing that is part of the mission of CLLAN.
Here is my short interview with Jana:
After the conference, we stayed in Prague one extra day. It was not enough time in this magical art nouveau city, but we did get a chance to see original musical manuscripts by Beethoven, Mozart and Handel and to visit the oldest still active synagogue in Europe where Rabbi Lowe lead the congregation and legend has it that his Golem is still stored in the attic.
Add a visit to Prague to your bucket list.
