Dear Friends and Supporters of the CLL Society,
The ability to block the B cell receptor (BCR) with drugs has radically transformed for the better how we treat CLL. Blocking BTK is the best known method, but there is a whole other very efficacious class of drugs, PI3K inhibitors. Dr. Pagel and I discuss new promising research at ASH 2018.
I am retired from family medicine and am now dedicated full time to the CLL Society. But is wasn’t official until I had my retirement party with my whole family there and gave my goodbye speech that you can catch here.
The FDA’s 10th approval of ibrutinib, this time in combination with obinutuzumab for frontline therapy for CLL, is more good news. For more see our story here.
Genentech’s Patient Connect Program
Genentech is seeking patients who are being treated with VENCLEXTA® (venetoclax) and who may be interested in participating in Genentech’s Patient Connect program and sharing their experience with other patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals. Their insights and perspectives may potentially help shape services that are intended to support, inform, and empower the patient community.
