ASH is asking hematologists to share the case histories of all their blood cancer patients who contract COVID-19 and correlating the collected data in a registry to build evidence about how patients who have hematologic malignancies do when they get infected.
I would suspect this is only data from the severe cases that end in hospital, but that is not clear.
As of the time of this writing (May 6, 2020), there were only 16 CLL cases, and the data is not encouraging with a 40% mortality rate in CLL.
That may be way off when we get bigger numbers, but for now, the best advice is do what you can to not to get COVID-19.
Here is the link to the ASH COVID-19 registry for all blood cancer.
I am sure it will be updated in close to real time.
Stay safe and strong. We are all in this together
