Our Q3 2020 MRD Special Edition of the CLL Society Tribune made its debut on Thursday, October 1. Let’s dive in and have a look around!
The availability of MRD testing, which can give a read on how much actual disease remains detectable (or not detectable) during or after treatment, has had profound impact, not only on determining future treatment, but on the psychology and emotional quality of life for some CLL patients. In addition to the Tribune, you can learn more at CLL Society’s website here.
The effect of this more precise information is palpable in the riveting articles written by 3 of our patients who have experienced uMRD: Stephen Feldman, the leader of our CLL Support Group that meets at City of Hope, Mark Hoffman, the leader of our San Diego Support Group, and 16-year CLL survivor, Keith Seagull. Please see the “NewsFlash” at the top of Keith’s article for uplifting news in our Living Well with CLL section.
Further broadening our sense of community are our “Ask the Experts” columns on the right-hand side of the newsletter, which reveal both common and esoteric questions across a broad spectrum of CLL topics. Spend some time here. We are filled with gratitude for the generous contributions of time and expertise from Drs. Furman, Koffman, Leclair, Ratner, and Pharmacist Tom Henry, making Smart Patients Get Smart Care™ attainable.
Dr. Koffman has worked with the MRD Collaborative to put together an MRD testing glossary to help you get your bearings.
