Holiday Cheer Without the Fear for CLL / SLL Patients

In science and medicine, information is constantly changing and may become out-of-date as new data emerge. All articles and interviews are informational only, should never be considered medical advice, and should never be acted on without review with your health care team.

Holiday Cheer Without the Fear for CLL / SLL Patients

The special closeness of the holidays can be a source of immense joy and comfort. But it can also be a time of significant risk during a pandemic for chronic lymphocytic leukemia/small lymphocytic lymphoma patients, especially with the rising prevalence of COVID-19 in many states as winter approaches.

I thank Dr. Ed Ratner, who leads two of our CLL Society’s Support Groups, for writing a thoughtful letter to help explain our continued vulnerability to family and friends and ask for their understanding if we say no to invitations or insist on mask-wearing and/or social distancing when gathering.

Please feel free to use this letter and personalize it to fit your unique needs. Click here to read and download: HOLIDAY LETTER TO FAMILY AND FRIENDS

Stay strong. We are all in this together.
