Swollen Lymph Nodes After the Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine

In science and medicine, information is constantly changing and may become out-of-date as new data emerge. All articles and interviews are informational only, should never be considered medical advice, and should never be acted on without review with your health care team.

Question

I am a 62-year-old male in the early watch and wait phase of CLL. I recently had the 2nd Moderna vaccination, and 5 days later I am noticing swollen nodes and general swelling around my neck. I read that this is a potential side effect and that it should go away soon. Can you confirm? Thanks

Answer

Swollen nodes are a recognized side effect, especially for CLL patients, and should go away soon. If not, then do follow-up with your doctors
