CLL Society is committed to the highest ethical standards and ensuring that our educational activities and support services are all conducted with integrity and without the bias of corporate influence. The organization is dedicated to preventing real or perceived conflict of interest from our corporate donors, which provides a foundation of trust for those we serve.
CLL Society is a nonprofit organization that provides free education and support for CLL patients and their caregivers via webinars, forums, printed materials, and other online resources. CLL Society reserves the right to develop collaborations with corporations from various industries to develop educational programs and related initiatives. Through such collaborations, CLL Society receives financial support in the form of restricted and unrestricted grants, sponsorships, and in-kind support. It is CLL Society’s experience that collaborating with corporations helps provide much-needed information and services to people with chronic lymphocytic leukemia, their families, and health care professionals.
CLL Society is committed to embracing the values of accountability and transparency that build trust in our supporters and advance our mission to address the unmet needs of the chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) community through patient education, advocacy, support, and research. We recognize the important role that charitable nonprofit organizations play in the blood cancer community. Therefore, CLL Society adheres to the following guidelines in working with these companies:
- Our staff is committed to practices that respect donors’ rights to truthful information and privacy. We also commit to manage responsibly the funds that donors entrust to us and to report our financial affairs accurately and completely.
- Corporate contributions and all charitable funding initiatives are to be executed within a strategic framework that mitigates risk, ensures fairness, reflects our values, and considers both business interests and organizational sustainability.
- The organization will not endorse any medications, medical products, healthcare goods, or services. All activities at CLL Society are independent, non-promotional, and free from commercial influences or bias.
- CLL Society’s educational programs are not meant to provide medical advice.
- All financial support received from corporate partners imposes no obligation, expressed or implied, on any of the employees or affiliates of CLL Society to purchase, recommend, or arrange for the purchasing or prescribing of any commercial product.
- All information provided in CLL Society’s educational programs and related initiatives will be presented in a fair and balanced fashion.
- CLL Society has full and final authority over the selection of presenters for its workshops, conferences, and related educational programs, as well as editors of all print and online media. No company will control, influence, or dictate the content or design of any CLL Society activity.
- Although CLL Society may, at times, develop the content from its activities with information and data provided by external sources, CLL Society remains the owner of all content and retains the right to plan, execute, and edit such content at its full discretion.
- CLL Society’s educational programs cannot be altered, revised, or duplicated without CLL Society’s prior written consent.
- If a corporate partner seeking to cite CLL Society (including its images, logo, registered marks, mission, and related language) in its programs and/or materials must first obtain a prior review and written consent.
- We retain full discretion and control over all events, including the planning, scheduling, and operations. CLL Society reserves the right to reschedule or cancel an event for circumstances beyond our reasonable control, or any other reason we deem necessary or advisable. This includes without limitation, safety, health, and well-being of our attendees, volunteers, staff, or partners, logistical complications, public health concerns, severe weather forecast, or other circumstances potentially affecting event operations, attendance, or success. In such cases, CLL Society will make reasonable efforts to provide timely notice of postponement or cancelation.
- CLL Society regularly discloses the names of corporate partners, as well as the specific activities supported by each partner, in all educational materials including (but not limited to) its website and annual report.
CLL Society values its reputation as an excellent source of unbiased, quality educational activities and services. This policy was developed to reinforce our commitment to this reputation, and to the high-quality services for which we are known and respected.
