CLL Society is proud to have led the establishment of an international group of individuals who all had the same goal in mind―coming together to help protect immunocompromised (IC) blood cancer patients against COVID-19. This group eventually evolved into a multi-stakeholder coalition, consisting of representatives from the global patient advocacy and clinical communities which is now known as the International COVID-19 Blood Cancer Coalition (ICBCC). The group’s efforts are now being led by CLL Advocates Network (CLLAN).
The IBCCC’s mission is to address the specific impacts of the pandemic on immunocompromised blood cancer patients, and to recommend solutions and actions to mitigate those risks. The coalition launched a global campaign aimed at raising awareness about the continued need to protect the IC community.
Consider reading CLL Society’s press release which goes into further detail about the identified needs of immunocompromised blood cancer patients living within the United States.
