CLL Society on Early Cancer Detection

In science and medicine, information is constantly changing and may become out-of-date as new data emerge. All articles and interviews are informational only, should never be considered medical advice, and should never be acted on without review with your health care team.

Authored by Dr. Brian Koffman

Never in a million years did I expect to find my name, a link to CLL Society, and a Kardashian in the same SHEKNOWS and YAHOO NEWS (Lifestyle) article, but when it’s about cancer detection, why not?

And if the press chooses to use the celebrity status of Kris Jenner to bring broader attention to questions about how to and not to screen for cancer, I am okay with that. I, along with other thoughtful physicians, got a chance to talk about how one might recognize cancer early in what is a well-balanced article.

My outline of the only tangentially related subject of the possible warning signs of blood cancer, in general, comes near the end of the article, a minor and topically different outro to the article’s main discussion of the role of expensive imaging in catching cancer early.

Kris Jenner Got a $2,500 Preventative MRI On The Kardashians, But Is It Worth It? is an article where I never expected to find a link to CLL Society. However, if we can increase awareness of our services to a different demographic, I’m all in. I am grateful for this surprise opportunity and hope my words and our website help some fellow patients.

Stay strong. We are all in this together.
