Controlling Out of Pocket (OOP) Expenses for Medicare Prescriptions

In science and medicine, information is constantly changing and may become out-of-date as new data emerge. All articles and interviews are informational only, should never be considered medical advice, and should never be acted on without review with your health care team.

CLL Society has been advocating for our community behind the scenes surrounding prescription drug pricing. Recently, we signed a joint letter to request reform in Medicare Part D out-of-pocket costs. There were 132 patient, disability, and provider organizations that joined together in this effort to urge Congress to enact meaningful reforms to improve prescription drug affordability.

The joint letter was submitted to key House and Senate committee leaders calling for meaningful reforms to address the heavy burden of out-of-pocket costs for Medicare Part D beneficiaries on September 9th, 2021. The letter urged concrete reforms to improve affordability for Medicare Part D beneficiaries in the budget reconciliation process.

The letter is available online here, and the press release can be found here.

Keep learning, be kind, and stay well!
