I have a light case of COVID, should I still have the monoclonal infusion?

Ask the Doctor Question:

I am a 72-year-old woman with no other health issues, except CLL, in my fifth day of COVID. Have been taking Imbruvica for five-years which has worked wonderfully for me. As it appears I have a light case of COVID, should I still have the monoclonal infusion?

Answer: To answer your question, yes. You absolutely should try and get them if you are still eligible. And you should get them asap since they really only work if you obtain them within the first 7-10 days, but the earlier the better. COVID can be a strange disease where people feel better one day, but then take a downturn the next. Better safe than not.

You can find a map of where to find monoclonal antibody infusions for COVID within the directions page of our COVID-19 Action Plan which can be found here: https://cllsociety.org/2021/07/covid-19-plan-checklists-for-chronic-lymphocytic-leukemia-cll-preparing-for-pre-and-post-covid-19-exposure/
