CLL Society’s Statement on the War in Ukraine

In science and medicine, information is constantly changing and may become out-of-date as new data emerge. All articles and interviews are informational only, should never be considered medical advice, and should never be acted on without review with your health care team.

CLL Society is heartbroken by the events unfolding in Ukraine and the dire conditions Ukrainian citizens are facing. CLL Society is committed to supporting individuals living with chronic lymphocytic leukemia/small lymphocytic lymphoma (CLL / SLL) everywhere. We recognize the heightened needs of those in Ukraine living with CLL, and all other types of cancer, at this time with their access to quality and reliable care being severely limited or cut off entirely. We stand with Ukrainian citizens and adamantly oppose the harsh and severe actions being taken.

We are following the lead of our sister blood cancer charities more active in Europe for coordinating aid, such as Lymphoma Coalition whose helpful response can be found at https://lymphomacoalition.org/ukraine-conflict-response/.

CLL Society encourages individuals to consider donating to the following organizations who we believe are doing important work on providing healthcare to Ukrainian refugees in this time of crisis.

International Committee of the Red Cross

Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders

International Medical Corps
