This April, CLL Society’s Co-Founder, Executive Vice President, and Chief Medical Officer was invited by the Personalized Medicine Coalition to speak virtually. The bipartisan, bicameral Congressional Personalized Medicine Caucus in collaboration with the Personalized Medicine Coalition hosted a virtual congressional educational briefing titled, “Promoting Innovation and Delivery of Cell and Gene Therapies.” He was joined by other impressive experts, members of Congress, and patient advocates.
In this one-hour briefing there was an excellent discussion on the advances in sickle cell anemia and several other diseases. There were so many great examples of how personalized medicine has become an incredible asset for those living with various chronic conditions.
You can watch the entire recording here: Promoting Innovation and Delivery of Cell and Gene Therapies.
Dr. Koffman was the second speaker. If you would like to skip ahead, you can listen to him speak at the 23:26 minute mark. We were especially proud when the co-chair of the Congressional Personalized Medicine Caucus, Tom Emmer from the 6th Congressional District of Minnesota, personally thanked Dr. Koffman for his involvement in this important effort.
