Dr. Chadi Nabhan is a hematologist and oncologist who was an expert witness in three groundbreaking trials that found that exposure to glyphosate, the active ingredient in the world’s largest selling weedkiller, Roundup, was the cause of the plaintiff’s non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) and in one case awarded a 2-billion-dollar verdict against the manufacturer, Monsanto, now Bayer.
Dr. Nabhan explains what led him to his strong conviction that Roundup increased the risk for NHL. Chronic lymphocytic leukemia/small lymphocytic lymphoma (CLL / SLL) is one subtype of NHL.
This does not mean that all CLL / SLL results from Roundup or those exposed develop a lymphoma. For most, the cause of their CLL / SLL remains unknown. Still, in some cases, glyphosate exposure may have contributed to the development of their cancer. As Dr. Nabhan said, each journey is different, and only expert review can determine if Roundup was a factor.
In his interview, he discussed the overwhelming scientific evidence and Monsanto’s public relation campaign to downplay the health concerns.
In his dramatic book, he presents the human tragedies, the evidence from his and other experts’ research, the courtroom drama, the denials by Monsanto, and the media frenzy surrounding the verdict. He also shares the heavy personal toll that came with taking on the role of defending affected cancer patients.
Dr. Nabhan is a great storyteller at the center of an important controversy. Still, more importantly, Chadi is a wise and compassionate physician who deeply cares for his patients and does what is right to serve justice.
We highly recommend you read Toxic Exposure. It is eye-opening and a great read.
