 (Duration 90 minutes)

Description

Join CLL Society and Dr. Daphne Ruth Friedman as she delves into the unique challenges and considerations of CLL and SLL among veterans. This comprehensive webinar will cover the higher prevalence of CLL in veterans, potential environmental exposures such as Agent Orange and burn pits, and the Department of Veterans Affairs’ (VA) recognition of CLL as a service-connected condition.

Dr. Friedman will discuss treatment options available through the VA, including the National Telehealth Oncology Program, genetic testing services, standard CLL treatments, and access to clinical trials. Additionally, the webinar will address the mental health impact of a CLL diagnosis, resources for conditions like PTSD, depression, and anxiety, and the importance of mind-body practices and peer support programs. This session aims to provide veterans with valuable information on managing CLL and accessing the support services they need.
