Medicare Prescription Payment Program (MPPP)

In science and medicine, information is constantly changing and may become out-of-date as new data emerge. All articles and interviews are informational only, should never be considered medical advice, and should never be acted on without review with your health care team.

Last month, CLL Society joined with many patient organizations in calling on the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to report to Congress on uptake of the Medicare Prescription Payment Program (MPPP). This program was created to provide Medicare Part D beneficiaries the option to pay their prescription drug costs in monthly installments over the course of a plan year. CLL Society expects this to be particularly helpful to cancer patients. The required report would include details on how CMS is educating beneficiaries about the program, identifying barriers to participation, and more. Read two letters here, one directing CMS to provide this report, the other mandating it through legislation.
