Financial Assistance – Nonprofits and Government
Financial support programs from nonprofits and government agencies are constantly changing. The following text was taken from their web sites, but it is important to refer back to the sources for the most up to date information about pre-requisites and currently available funding. Also keep in mind that most of these sources of funds are means tested—typically grants are restricted to those with low incomes.
Four types of nonprofits are listed here, in descending order of relevance to those with CLL:
- Blood cancer
- General health
- Government agencies
Financial Assistance – Industry Sponsored
Financial support programs to help pay for drugs from pharmaceutical companies are constantly changing. The following was taken from their web sites. It is important to refer back to the sources for the most up to date information. Keep in mind that many of these funds are means tested.
Funds may be unavailable to patients enrolled in Medicare or Medicaid.

COVID-19 Specific Financial Assistance:
COVID-19 Emergency Food Assistance Program from Team Rubicon
Patients with an identified financial need can apply for a one-time grant of $500 to help pay for food and other nutritional items. Additional potential benefits include delivery of food and other critical supplies directly to your place of residence by one of Team Rubicon’s (mostly military veteran) volunteers. https://teamrubiconusa.org/applynow/
LLS COVID-19 Patient Financial Aid Program
Leukemia & Lymphoma Society has established the LLS COVID-19 Patient Financial Aid Program to help eligible blood cancer patients experiencing financial hardship due to the pandemic.
