The World’s Leading Authority for Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia Patients

Andrew Schorr and Dr. Brian Koffman Talk Clinical Trials and CLL

In science and medicine, information is constantly changing and may become out-of-date as new data emerge. All articles and interviews are informational only, should never be considered medical advice, and should never be acted on without review with your health care team.

Andrew Schorr and Brian Koffman have been friends for almost two decades on their separate but parallel blood cancer journeys as they both navigate life with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL).

Leveraging his experience as a journalist and his cancer battles, Andrew, with his wife Esther, founded Patient Power, which has helped educate and empower countless patients with various health challenges.

Brian and his wife Patty founded the nonprofit CLL Society after years of blogging about his CLL journey. Brian serves as its Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer.

Between them and the organizations they founded and guided for years, tens of thousands of CLL patients’ lives have been improved.

In a podcast episode, Andrew and Brian recount their CLL journeys. Brian describes himself as a clinical trial junkie. He is doing great on his third early phase trial now.
