From Diagnosis to Advocacy: Albie Suozzi’s CLL Journey Featured on the Cover of Cancer Health

In science and medicine, information is constantly changing and may become out-of-date as new data emerge. All articles and interviews are informational only, should never be considered medical advice, and should never be acted on without review with your health care team.

CLL Society community member and advocate Albie Suozzi was recently featured on the cover of Cancer Health in an article highlighting her journey with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL).

Diagnosed in 2008, Albie set out to learn everything she could about her disease at a time when few patient resources existed. Her search for answers eventually led her to a CLL specialist who conducted advanced testing and confirmed she had a low-risk, slow-growing form of the disease.

After more than 15 years on active surveillance, she began treatment in 2023 and continues to work closely with her care team. Along the way, Albie has dedicated herself to helping others by establishing a CLL Society support group in Rochester, New York, creating a 1-on-1 peer support program, and serving as a patient advocate.

Her story highlights the power of knowledge, partnership with the right medical team, and the importance of community support.
