Nathan’s Story: How Biomarker Testing Made a Difference in his CLL Treatment Journey

After Nathan was diagnosed with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) at 45, his proactive research led him to find information and community with CLL Society. Feeling empowered to educate himself using the resources provided by CLL Society, Nathan quickly understood the importance of testing before treatment in his CLL journey.
Testing had not originally been ordered by Nathan’s local oncologist, who initially suggested chemotherapy without knowing more about his genetic makeup, which could have had devastating consequences for his prognosis.
Once taking the initiative to learn more about the importance of understanding his unique biomarker status, Nathan found a CLL specialist and a more tailored approach to his treatment.
